• EMAS Law Law of the state ecomanagement audit
  system
• ( Journal of Laws, Nr 70/2004, pos. 631)
  started 1.05.2004.
• The Law specified roles and responsibilities of
  polish administration bodies for realising of
  EMAS scheme in Poland.
• Polish EMAS system consists of
• Ministry of Environment as competent body
• Voivods as registration body, co-operating with
  competent body (1st January 2006 - modification
  of The Law as registration body is marshall of
  voivodship)
• Accreditation body Polish Centre of
  Accreditation
• State Ecomanagement Council as advisory body (not
  existing yet)

EMAS system in Poland

• Competent Body (Ministry of Environment) -
  supervising of EMAS system, leading of state
  register of EMAS organizations, exchange of
  information and co-operation with Commission and
  other bodies involved in EMAS.
• Registration Body (voivod/marshall) concerning
  of application of organizations, collecting of
  opinions from local administration, inspection of
  environment and other units, registration at
  voivodship register and giving information to the
  Competent Body.

• Accreditation Body (Polish Centre of
  Accreditation) accreditation of verifiers,
  supervising of their activities, registration of
  foreign verifiers and checking of their
  statements.
• State Ecomanagement Council (not existing yet)
  initiation of EMAS promotion activities,
  consideration of system functionning, evaluation,
  opinions and suggestions.
