• How can we model the key factors involved in the
  process of creation and development of an ASU and
  the relationships among them?
• What are the main differences between ASUs and
  other NTBFs relating to each element of the above
  mentioned model? How do they affect firms
  performances?
• What are the resource configurations of the
  different types of academic start-ups and which
  actions should ASUs take to close their initial
  resource gaps?
• What kinds of relations are established between
  ASUs and their parent organizations? How can PROs
  be effective in supporting the new ventures?
• Does the social/institutional environment affect
  the creation and development process of ASUs?
  What are the differences among ASUs created in
  different countries?

  endowment, development strategies and relations
  with the PRO
