The goal of the ICO-Fellowship-Program
Prof. B. Gloor in 2001to support promising young
ophthalmologists from developing countries to
improve their practical skills and broaden their
views in ophthalmology. The fellows are expected
to bring the acquired knowledge and skills back
to their home country to take part in the fight
to prevent avoidable blindness.

ophthalmologist from Bacau, Romania and had a
three months fellowship of ICO in 2005 at the
University Clinic Regensburg,Germany
we have in our district over 10 000 of patients
with diabetic disease and before starting my work
all the patients from my region had to go over
300 kilometres to receive laser treatment in
Bucharest .
