11Magna carta caused changes in England
12Magna carta is,
13Magna carta
- The magna carta was an agreement between the
towns people and the king, that said any law the
king made, he had to follow just as the towns
people had to.
14Who demanded this agreement???????????
- The towns people
- demanded that the
- king sign it, they said
- if he didnt sign it then
- they would rebel
- against him.
15Effects of the magna carta
16The effects
- The magna cartas effects where, that the king HAD
to obey every law he hade made. Among these
rights, where habeas corpus which means, you have
the body. The right of this, is that the king
cannot put a citizen in jail for no reason.
173 important demands of the magna carta
- 1.no man shall be forced to perform more service
for a knights fee, or other free holding of land
than is due from it. - 2. Neither we nor any royal official will take
wood for our castle, or for any other purpose,
without the consent of the owner. - 3 in future no official shall place a man on
trial upon his own unsupported statement ,
without producing credible witness to the truth
of it.
18Changes after the magna carta
- English found the magna carta a good way to limit
the kings power. - A council of nobles made to advise the king
- They soon deloloped the parliament,
19How did the king limit the magna carta
- Tried to use judges. Try to choose judges that
would always pick his side. Ones that would only
benefit him NOT the towns people.
203 democratic principles in mr.fraziers 3rd period
- 1. every student gets there own laptop
- 2. every student gets a daily soda
- 3. every student gets gum from Meghan postelnick
- These are good democratic laws because,
democratic is for the people by the people. These
