Participles

• Past tense and Present Tense verbs- usually
  ending in -d, -ed, -ing (jumped, running,
  laughing)
• Looks like a verb, but functions as an adjective
• Watch for irregular verbs (swim, run, teach)
• CANNOT BE THE MAIN VERB OF THE SENTENCE!

Participles

• Modifies a Noun in the sentence.
• So place it next to the noun it describes!
