2THE F-MU.S.EU.M. THEMATIC ROUTES F-M
U.S.EU.M. (Form Multimedia System for a European
Museum) LLP-LDV/TOI/07/IT/016 Second
Transnational Workshop Sofia, 24-26 September
2008
3The Route of F-MU.S.EU.M General framework
- The F-MU.S.EU.M. Project has the aim to realize a
new Virtual Museum providing access to a wide
range of information - Our main goal is to talk about the European
roots - One of the most important aim of the Project is
to transform users into interpreters of cultural
events and contents mainly related to prehistory,
through the knowledge of items and collections
selected by the Project Partner and Beneficiary
Museums.
4The role of the F-MU.S.EU.M Thematic Rotes within
the general framework of the Project
- Narrating appealing stories telling about our
- shared cultural heritage
- Creating cultural-touristic itineraries.
The Virtual Museum created within the
F-MU.S.EU.M. Project is tailored for a wide
public, not only for experts Our Virtual Museum
will talk to this non-expert audience in two
ways
5The role of the F-MU.S.EU.M Thematic Rotes within
the general framework of the Project
- Thematic routes have a very important role in
this context, because they allow the link between
the telling of stories and the development of
tourist-cultural itineraries. - Thematic routes also create an important bridge
between the MU.S.EU.M. and the F-MU.S.EU.M.
collections, and among the Collections of all the
F-MU.S.EU.M. Partners, allowing visitors to
discover a huge number of objects through which
they can get a complete idea about the most
important topics of prehistory. This can help
users to become interpreters of the European
History.

interrelations with the items of the other
museums - Give their feedbacks and communicate your ideas
about the draft texts of the routes, received by
email, focusing in particular on possible links
with other museums items - Check that the items from their Museums (both
Partner and Beneficiary!) are included in all the
Routes
104. Concretely contribute to the elaboration of
the following Routes - How will build up an
exhibition - Ritual connected to the burn of
the old year - The hidden roots.
11 FORM FOR FEEDBACKS AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROUTE
DRAFT TEXTS
12Contribution for creating cultural-touristic
itineraries HOW TO REALIZE IT?
- Routes can be connected to tourism by creating
references and links to - Events which take locally place in your country,
and that can be connected to the subject of the
Route - Example If we are talking about Agriculture,
mention can be done to a feast in your countries,
related to the agricultural cycle, a cerimony, as
well as any other event that could be referred to
our topic.
13Contribution for creating cultural-touristic
itineraries HOW TO REALIZE IT?
- Places of Regional, local interest in your
country. - Example If we are building a route about wine,
- reference can be done to and by
- - Special regions and places of your country,
famous for wine production - Providing a short history about special wines of
your countries, etc. - References and links to enogastronomic local
trails of your countries.
14ELABORATING THE FOLLOWING ROUTES
- How will build up an exhibition
Propose a title for the route and provide a text
(about 1-2 pages), telling a history about HOW
YOU DID AN EXHIBITION in your Museum. Use as much
pictures as possible.
15 ELABORATING THE FOLLOWING ROUTES
- The hidden roots
- Propose a title for the route and to provide a
text of 1-2 pages about this topic, telling
something related to the theme but linking to
other participating countries, using items of all
the Museums - Our main goal must be, for this route, to find a
common history which can create bridges, links
among the histories of all the countries
participating to the F-MU.S.EU.M. Project.
16ELABORATING THE FOLLOWING ROUTES
- Ritual connected to the burn of the old year
- Propose a title and provide a text about
- Feasts, festivals, etc.
- Religious cerimonies
- Any other kind of events that can allow us to
create a bridge between past and present in your
country, etc. - As much as possible, think to links to other
participating countries providing references,
where available.
17PROPOSED STRUCTURE FOR THE ROUTES
The main criterion for the selection of the items
is that the item selected must not only be
pertinent, but it must have the power to tell
something significant about the story we are
telling, according to the point that our Virtual
Museum wants To tell stories.
18PROPOSED STRUCTURE FOR THE ROUTES Here are some
general considerations about the texts
contents.
- Texts must invite visitors to a deeper
discovery of the topics of our Virtual Museum and
provide them with a unified vision of the
European common heritage for example, if we are
talking about agriculture, it is interesting for
visitors to see what tools were used in the same
period in Bulgaria, Romania, and Italy, in order
to give to him a global vision of the material
culture, tools and techniques requested for the
development of agriculture, in those countries. - Routes must interrelate with each other in
order to introduce visitors to the knowledge of
prehistoric art and history, several internal
links from a Route to another, are available.
19FINAL SUMMARY
- PRODUCTS EXPECTED
- Elaboration of 3 Routes (The hidden roots
How will build up an exhibition Ritual
connected to the burn of the old year) - Filling the forms and provide feedbacks and
integrations to the draft texts sent by email - Last recommendation thematic routes are the
core of the narration about our shared heritage,
so it is very important to do the effort to link
to the items of the all the participating
museums. -
