Conference Theme The two day conference is
jointly organised by the QUASI COSBICS EU FP6
supported research programmes. Both consortia are
employing multidisciplinary functional genomics
approaches to decipher basic mechanisms
underlying signal transduction and intracellular
communication as well as transcriptional

Location Rostock is an old Hanse Town, located
at the baltic coast in the north east of Germany
- a region is called 'Mecklenburg Vorpommern'.
The closest international airports are in Hamburg
and Berlin. There are good motorways connection
Rostock with Hamburg (appr. 2 hrs) and Berlin
(appr. 2.5 hrs). There are also frequent ferries
to and from Sweden and Denmark. Warnmünde is a
sea-side resort 20min from Rostock
(www.rostock.de).
Travel Information Train timetables between
Rostock, Hamburg and Berlin can be found at
www.sbi.uni-rostock.de/contact.html . We
recommend the use of Intercity trains, which take
one hour and 50 minutes between Hamburg main
train station and Rostock. The airport in Hamburg
is connected with the Jasper Airport Express Bus
to the train station. This service runs every
15min and takes 25 minutes. Warnemünde is
reached from Rostock main train station using the
S-Bahn service, running every ten minute, 29min
duration. This route is part of the train network
and can be booked with the train ticket. Further
