ASSISTANCE IN THIS QUEST.THE INITIAL LEGAL
ACTION WAS QUALIFIED AS IMPROCEDENT BUT AN APPEAL
IS UNDER WAY. THE NATIONAL HERITAGE OFFICE HAS
DECLARED THIS INTERVENTION AS MINOR AND GIVEN
PERMISSION STATING THAT NO DAMAGE WILL BE
DONE.NO MENTION TO THE MANAGEMENT PLAN DONE IN
2003..

THE MEMBERS OF SVAP REQUEST THE
FOLLOWING 1-THAT THE WORKS BE INMEDIATELY
STOPPED 2-THAT THIS PROJECT MOVES OUTSIDE THE
PARK 3-THAT A RECUPERATION PROJECT OF THE PARK
HAS TO BE SERIOUSLY UNDERTAKEN 4. THE LEANDER
PROJECT CONSISTS IN A SUBTERRANEAN TWO STORY
BUILDING OF 4000 SQ.METERS, THAN ENDANGERS THE
INTEGRITY OF THE LAKE, IS AN UNREVERSIBLE
INTERVENTION THAT WILL AFFECT MUCH MORE THAN THE
APPROX. 8000SQ. METRES OF PARK TERRITORY THAT WE
CAN SEE IN THE GRAPHIC ILUSTRATING THIS ISSUE.

5..THIS PROJECT WILL NEED PUMPS FOR THE
UNDERWATER EXTRACTION, VENTILATION AND AIR
CONDITIONING INSTALLATIONS, MOST OF THEM ON
GROUND LEVEL, AND NOISE PRODUCING, IN THE UNTIL
TODAY QUIETEST AREA OF THE PARK. 6.THE PROJECT
IS LOCATED NEARLY 800M FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE,
TRANSFORMING THE PARK INTO A SERVICE AREA OF THIS
PROJECT 7. THE PARK HAS BEEN SERIOUSLY
UNDERMANTAINED, MAKING IT EVIDENT THAT THE PRK
INSTITUTE HAS POOR CAPACITY TO UNDERTAKE A NEW
AND HIGHLY DEMANDING UNSUSTAINABLE FACILITY.

The values that were identify to be declared as
National Heritage site

• As the best example of landscape arquitecture in
  the country and the most important Burle Marx
  work outside his country, Brasil.
• From an aestethic view, it acomplish armonic
  spaces, a high quality landscape and botanical
  ambiances and the presence of tropical flora.
• From the funtional point of view, there is a
  physical infaestructure dedicated to the
  recreational activity and the presence of
  buildings as the Planetarium, La Concha Acústica
  and the Nao Santa Maria.

Investment 2006

• A 8M Bs. F investment is been concentrated on 2.5
  of the Park total the total area.
• Only a 14M Bs. F investment will be use for the
  rest of Parque and Parque del Oeste.

• The Project was created without the comunity and
  experts participation (2006-2008)
• The IPC (Cultural Heritage Institute) authorized
  the Project on August, 15th. More than a month
  after works started. And 10 days later the legal
  action started.
