the Award process
7Explanation of CSR practice as promoted through
the Award process
- The National Responsible Business Award is
designed to reward companies overall CSR
strategies and performance as regards the
different award categories, and not specific
initiatives or projects - Therefore, the evaluation criteria aim to
evaluate the level of integration into the
business, from strategy into operations, aiming
for effective and concrete improvements, aligned
to the needs of the business and its
stakeholders - This award model is purposefully designed so that
the process of applying for the award is in
itself an important support to the development of
the companies CSR understanding, thinking and
actions. - The intention is that these developments will
accelerate and become increasingly tangible over
the next years, with the yearly repetition of the
award.

- The 5 criteria areas follow the five steps in the
CSR Implementation and Improvement Process. These
are - Identification of CSR issues
- Engagement with stakeholders
- Development of strategic direction, action plan
and KPIs - Implementation monitoring of progress

11National Responsible Business Award 2008
- National Responsible Business Award 2008 will
include the following nominations - a) METU DARBOVIETE Workplace of the Year (award
to be presented by the Minister of Social
Security and Labour) - b) BENDRUOMENIKIAUSIA METU IMONE Best in the
community (award to be presented by the Minister
of Economy) - c) APLINKOSAUGINE METU IMONE Environmental
Company of the Year (award to be presented by the
Minister of Environment). - The overall award Socially Responsible Company
2008 shall be granted to a company that collects
highest number of points from three nominations
above
12AWARD CATEGORY Workplace of the Year
- This category recognizes companies for the
quality of its workplace conditions and its level
of attractiveness to potential employees. A
successful entry will detail specific, measurable
activities the company has undertaken to achieve
positive impact for the business and its
employees in its role as employer.
13Award Focus Workplace of the Year
- Creation of good and attractive working
conditions that ensure balance between work and
private life - Application of flexible working hours employment
of people with disabilities or other socially
vulnerable groups and creation of conditions for
them to effectively participate in the labour

- Active dialogue of the management with employees
- Establishment of staff complains and suggestions,
as well as its resolution procedure - Harassment and mobbing prevention policy
