Program ensures a hospital cancer program
provides multidisciplinary care in areas of
cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment to
patients in the community.

CoC Standards identify clinical services needed
to provide high-quality cancer care to patients
clinical laboratory, diagnostic imaging, surgical
procedures, radiation treatment, systemic
therapy, cancer staging, oncology nursing,
patient guidelines, and rehabilitation.

Approximately 10 of cases seen each year must be
presented at cancer conferences. 75 of cases
must be discussed prospectively.

the managing physician, and recorded in the
medical record, for 90 of cases annually.

committee completes and documents studies that
measure quality and outcomes. Two improvement
measures are implemented annually that directly
affect cancer patient care.

cancer and their families and friends. - CoC Standard 6.1 Supportive services are
provided on site or coordinated with local
agencies and facilities. Services may include
career, grief, and nutritional counseling,
genetic testing, palliative care, support groups,
and transportation services.

nationwide, facility-based, oncology data set

million cases
