8Course principles
- The State Safety Programme (SSP) provides
- a platform for States to apply safety management
principles, such as safety risk management (SRM)
and safety assurance (SA), to the discharge of
their safety responsibilities - a structural framework that allows the State
safety oversight authority and service providers
to interact more effectively in the resolution of
safety concerns - The SSP is also the enabler for the application
of safety management principles across the
different State civil aviation organizations

11Course goals
- The goals of the ICAO State Safety Programme
(SSP) implementation course are to - develop participants knowledge on the Standards
and Recommended Practices (SARPs) related to the
SSP, the ICAO SSP framework, its components and
elements, and related guidance material - provide practical guidance on the implementation
of the key elements of an SSP, which include a
States regulation for an SSP, the establishment
of acceptable levels of safety (ALoS), and an SSP
implementation plan

- A final evaluation test of one hour duration will
be administered on the last day of the course - The evaluation test includes twenty (20)
questions of multiple choice answers - Minimum pass mark 70
