Bible Words Twisted By Man
  • Some Twist the Scriptures to Teach Man Is Born in
    Sin
  • Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, in
sin my mother conceived me (Psalm 515).
  • Therefore, as through one mans offense judgment
came to all menfor as by one mans disobedience
many were made sinners (Romans 518-19).

9
Bible Words Twisted By Man
  • REMEMBER Always look at the difficult in light
    of the clear!
  • Moreover your little ones your childrenhave
no knowledge of good evil (Deut. 139).
  • The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not
bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear
the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the
righteous shall be upon himself, the wickedness
of the wicked shall be upon himself (Ezek.
    1820).
  • Matthew 183 See Rom. 512, 18-19

10
Operation of the holy spirit
  • Some Twist the Scriptures to Teach the Direct
Operation of the Holy Spirit Upon Sinners
  • No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent
Me draws him I will raise him up at the last
    day (Jn. 644).
  • How does Father draw that individual?
  • Direct operation of the H. S. acting
    independently of gospel preaching?
  • No - It is written in the prophets, And they
shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone
who has heard learned from the Father comes to
    Me (John 645).

11
Operation of the holy spirit
  • Direct Operation of Holy Spirit cont.
  • Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She
was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira
who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to
heed the things spoken by Paul (Ax. 1614).
  • Question How did the Lord open her heart? Was it
by the direct operation of Holy Spirit?
  • Was Lydia totally depraved as some teach
    thats why it was necessary?

12
Operation of the holy spirit
  • Spirit Does Convict of Sin, but Notice How
  • Jn. 167-11 Acts 236-37, 41
  • How did Paul know he was a sinner?
  • I Tim. 115 Rom. 320 77
  • Spirit is not the Converting Power
  • The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the
    soul (Psa. 197).
  • SeeHearUnderstand be converted healed
    (Acts 2827).
  • Gospel of Christpower of God to save believers
    (Rom. 116).
  • Word of Godliving, powerful, sharp
    penetrates the conscience (Heb. 412).

13
Operation of the holy spirit
  • Life Given by the Spirit the Word
  • Jn. 663 - It is the Spirit who gives life
  • Psa. 11950 - Thy word has given me life
  • Sanctified by Spirit the Word
  • I Cor. 611 - Sanctified by the Spirit
  • Jn. 1717 - Sanctify them by Your truth. Your
    word is truth.
  • Filled with the Spirit/Filled with Word
  • Eph. 518 - be filled with the Spirit
  • Col. 316 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you
    richly

14
Operation of the holy spirit
  • Must accept the Bible Revealed Role Work of the
    Holy Spirit
  • I Corinthians 210-13 Eph. 35
  • In Conversion, the Spirit Works Through the
    Agency of His Word
  • the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of
    God (Eph. 617).
  • Since the Bible never says a word about the
Spirit operating directly upon a sinners heart
in order to convert him, the burden of proof is
upon man who claims the doctrine!

15
Salvation
  • Some Twist the Scriptures to Teach that Once You
Receive Salvation You Cannot Lose It
  • Notice John 627-29
  • The Bible Teaches that we can lose our salvation
  • Gal. 61 Rev 25
  • You have been severed from Christ, you who are
seeking to be justified by law you have fallen
    from grace. (Gal. 54)

16
Two Covenants
  • Two Covenants Twisted to Mean
  • There is One Continuous Covenant
  • Christ Gave No Law He was a Covenant Victim, Not
A Covenant Maker or Law-Giver He Only Took Away
    the Ceremonial Aspects of Law
  • Continuity of Covenant Since the Days of Abraham
  • Law Does Not Become Obsolete When It has been
    Fulfilled
  • The Law was Not Nailed to the Cross, Only the
Debt which Sin Created was Taken Out of the Way

17
The eternal covenant Gods Peace Treaty With Man
Stanley W. Paher
  • Have you ever pondered the ramifications
consequences of inaugurating a new different
covenant, together w/ a new law of Christ, if God
had instituted one in the first century? The
revolution of religious thought would have been
    tremendous extensively preached written
about. Just think! An entire law system nailed to
the cross of Christ. The creation of a law of
    Christ. A long-standing covenant suddenly
stricken, a different covenant placed into
operation. Think seriously about this! If the
apostles thought that there were two distinct
covenants, old new, they surely would have
    written about them, delineating them...

18
The eternal covenant Gods Peace Treaty With Man

  • clearly forcefully as Paul did (in Rom. 5)
concerning two men Adam Christ. In that
    lengthy context, the apostle unmistakably
contrasted the far-reaching effects of their
work, intertwining powerful opposites - Adams
trespass the judgment that followed, the
grace of Christ the justification which it
brought (vv. 15-19). The point is this a
scripture discussion involving distinct old new
    covenants would have more importance
potentially greater influence if such concepts
indeed had been promulgated w/ full apostolic
authority, also by the passing of something
equally significant, an entire system of law -
    Moses -

  • - in favor of a new law for Christians. However,
the apostles were absolutely silent about carving
out such distinctions between either covenant or
laws, for evidently there were none. The earliest
church leaders mirrored contemporary thinking on
covenant law. Note how Clement of Alexandria
saw one God, one Lord, one covenant of salvation,
one unity of faith. These church leaders mirrored
    contemporary thinking. Therefore, the new
    covenant-new law theology, allegedly instituted
in the first century, amounts to a wholesale
    recasting of scriptures early religious
history. It did not happen. It is pure myth.

20
Two Covenants
  • Apostles Absolutely Silent about Two Distinct
    Covenants???
  • Jeremiah 3131-32 Hebrews 86-13
  • Galatians 51-4 Acts 151, 10
  • Galatians 319 (16), 23-25 313
  • Ephesians 215 Colossians 214
  • Romans 76-7 2 Corinthians 36-17

What Motivation or Purpose would there be to
Twist the Scriptures in such a Way?!
To Try to Get Around What the Lord Says About
Marriage, Divorce, Remarriage in Matthew 191-9.
21
Church Autonomy
  • Church Autonomy is being Twisted to Mean
  • Must Not Criticize False Ways or Doctrines if
    they are in Another Congregation!
  • I Plead the 5th Mentality
  • NT Teaches there is to be Local Church Autonomy
(I Peter 52), however Autonomy means
    Self-Government, Not Isolation!

22
Violating church autonomy?
  • Did the Jerusalem church violate the autonomy
of the churches in Antioch, Syria, Cilicia
    (Acts 1523)?
  • Did the Thessalonian church violate the
autonomy of the churches in Macedonia Achaia
    (I Thess. 18)?
  • Did Paul the church at Colosse violate the
autonomy of the church at Laodicea vice versa
    (Col. 416)?
  • Did John violate the autonomy of the church
where Diotrephes was a member (3 John 9-10)?
  • Did John Christ do so when addressing the 7
churches of Asia (Rev. 14 2-3)?

23
What are the Consequences of Such Error??
  • Brethren are Safe to Harbor False Doctrine Its
    Teachers!
  • Guilty Can Hide Under Umbrella of Local Church
    Autonomy
  • Local Churches become Cities of Refuge for the
    Wicked
  • Thus - Error Spreads Infects Many Other
Christians, b/c Not able to Address It in any
    Way!
  • Now, is this Mans Authority or Gods Authority?!

24
False Teacher
  • False Teacher Twisted to Mean
  • One Who Teaches Error - AND - has a Corrupt,
    Immoral Character
  • In order for someone to be a false teacher they
must have the kind of ungodly character that
Peter describes to us in 2 Peter 2.
  • Eyes full of adultery cannot cease to sin heart
trained in covetous practices allure through the
lusts of the flesh, through lewdness...
  • What does the NT Reveal to us about WHO are False
    Teachers??

25
False teachers in the NT
  • Matthew 2660-61 Revelation 22
  • 2 Corinthians 1126 Galatians 24
  • Philippians 32, 18-19
  • Matthew 2424, 23, 26
  • I John 41, 5
