Background of the idea

• The idea follows the issues raised in
• Euroguidance evaluation 2004 (transparency of
  networks)
• mutual learning (transparency of the European
  Employment Strategy launched in 1999,
  re-launched in 2005)
• future EURES guidelines (enhance synergies and
  improve the profiling of EURES among other
  networks)
• mutual interest in Finland and Germany

Objectives of the seminar

• We aimed to
• share good practices nationally and
  bi-nationally
• create contacts
• look for synergies and similarities
• discuss differences and challenges
• find a basis for cooperation on a daily basis
• develop new project ideas

Concept of the seminar

• a two-day seminar at a remote venue with
  ice-breaking activities
• experienced participants 10 from each country
  (5 advisers from EURES and Euroguidance from
  different parts of the country)
• introductory presentations on both country's
  systems
• mostly workshops relying heavily on the
  participants expertise and exchange of ideas
• involving partners to reach a wider scope
  (Chamber of Commerce, Embassy)
• shared responsibilities in the planning,
  financing and presenting of the seminar

Outcomes and Dissemination

• Results were obtained on
• Personal level (project responsibilities, future
  work basis)
• project level (EURES activity plan metal
  workers, information day, guidelines for
  employers)
• organizers level (basis for future organization
  of seminars)
• national level (links between EURES/Euroguidance
  in the country)
• dissemination articles in both languages,
  presentations at European and national events,
  on the spot dissemination, extranet
