• Successful businessman, mechanic and engineer
• Wanted to build machine to travel across snow
• 1947 made B12, 12 passenger snowmobile
• 1970 business expanded even though he was dead
• Threatened to sell business to American
  corporation

• As a child, he loved working with machinery
• His brother Leopold helped build first snowmobile
  prototype
• In 1935, son died
• Didnt have vehicle to travel across snow
