Sector in Argentina Program
- The goals for this Program are
- Development of scenarios within the information
and communication technologies sector (ICT). - Analysis of the main challenges to face in order
to achieve technological development and growth
of the ICT sector. - Advices and recommendations.
4Promotion of Productive Innovation Program - IBRD
This Program is the result of an agreement
between the Ministry of Science and the
International Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (IBRD). Its main goal is to ensure a
sustainable growth by diversifying the
exportation and adding value to production
through innovation and development of technology
based companies.
5Promotion of Productive Innovation Program - IBRD
The components of the Program are
- Human resources training, particularly training
for technology agents/managers - Training programs for technology managers in
specialized institutions. - Student grants and postgraduate scholarships for
specialization in ICT. - Strengthening programs for graduate and
postgraduate studies specialized in ICT. - Development of technology based companies.
- Sectorial funds for high technology.
- Including funds for ICT.
6Promotion of Productive Innovation Program - IBRD
The Agency participation on the Program
In the context of this Program, the National
Agency for the Promotion of Science and
Technology, through FONSOFT, will
- Organize public bids for proposals on
strengthening academic programs for technology
managers/agents, both in graduate and
postgraduate studies. - Offer non refundable funds (NRF) for
entrepreneurs and technology managers/agents. - Organize public bids for proposals on applied
science and development of industrial capacities
to improve performance and add value to
production.
7Electronic Library
The Electronic Library is a web site that gives
access to scientific documents, papers and
publications, both national and international
sources, in every area of knowledge. This is a
free service for researchers of any category and
institution, also for professors, students,
public administrators, and members of the
National Scientific System.
8Advance Networks Program
- The Ministry of Science, Technology and
Productive Innovation, participates in various
scientific and technologic networks - Some of them are
- InnovaRed (connected to the National Education
Network of Brazil - RNP). - CLARA Network (Latin-American cooperation in
advance networks)

System (SICyTAR)
- The SICyTAR consists of the following Information
Systems - The CvLAC gathers curricular information provided
by users of the National Science and Technology
System. - The GrupLAC is a directory of research groups,
and - The Scientific and Technological Institutions

7th Framework Program
- In the context of the Seventh Framework Program
of the European Union, the Ministry of Science,
Technology and Innovation has formally designated
7 Contact Points in the following areas - Energy
- Food, Agriculture, Biotechnology and Fishing
- Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities
- Environmental Sciences (Including Climate
Change) - Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and New Materials
- Health
- Information and Communication Technologies

Bilateral Cooperation Argentina France
The agreement signed between the Ministry of
Science, Technology and Productive Innovation,
the Institut National de Recherche en
Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA) and the
Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique
(CNRS), finances collaboration projects between
Argentinean and French research groups, in
computer science and applied mathematics. The
agreement has already financed 10 projects.

This Program is developing nowadays and will
center its efforts in three main areas
- Advance Networks
- Academic Sector
- Productive Sector

Regional Cooperation Program STIC AMSUD
This Regional Cooperation Program was launched on
occasion of the French - Latin-American Regional
Seminar on ICT (Amsud) which took place in
Santiago, Chile, on December 2005. During the
Seminar, the document that gave birth to the
Regional Program was signed. This Program
finances international projects on ICT for a
duration of 2 to 3 years. The Program has
approved over 15 collaboration projects that are
being developed these days.
15ICT Promotion within the Agency Funds
The Argentinean Technology Fund (FONTAR), of the
National Agency for the Promotion of Science and
Technology, manages financial instruments for
small and medium size companies in the ICT sector.
- Some of this instruments are
- ANR (Non Refundable Contributions)
- Fiscal Credit (income tax deductible)

- The FONSOFT was created by the Software Industry
Promotion Act in 2004. (Law 25.922) - The National Agency for the Promotion of Science,
Technology and Innovation is its legal
administrator.

- Investigation and development projects related
to software production activities
(self-development activities are excluded). - Higher education programs for human resources
training. - Quality improvement programs for software
creation, design, development and production. - Support programs for development of new
enterprises.

FONSOF financial instruments are
- EXPORTA FONSOFT Credits for the promotion of
export activities in small and medium size
companies. - FONSOFT EMPRENDEDORES Financial assistance for
entrepreneurs. - ANR FONSOFT Non refundable funds (NRF) for
small and medium size companies up to 50 percent
of the project total cost.
