• Vertebrates are animals with backbones to protect
  their nerves.

Mammals

• Make milk for young
• Warm-blooded
• Have fur or hair
• Breath air through lungs
• Develop inside mothers body
• Look like parents

Fish

• Live in fresh or salt water
• Get oxygen through gills
• Lay eggs
• Have scales/fins
• Life cycle like reptiles

Birds

• Warm-blooded
• Have feathers and beaks
• Lay eggs
• Some fly

Reptiles

• Tough dry skin with scales
• Lay eggs
• Cold-blooded
• Are similar to mammals

Amphibians

• Cold-blooded
• Soft and moist skin
• Skin can absorb water and oxygen
• Largest change in life cycle of all
  classes-metamorphosis

Invertebrates

• Animals without backbones.

Arthropods

• Jointed feet
• Largest phylum of animals
• Get oxygen from gills,tubes, or book lungs
• Bodies are in separate parts

• Different phyla
• Can be huge or microscopic
• Live in wet or damp places

Mollusks

• Absorb oxygen through gills or skin
• Have no bones
• Have soft bodies
• Some have hard outer shell
