Project Aims
  • To produce a set of educational podcasts for both
    vocational and academic subject areas for the FE
    sector,
  • To create a website that will allow various
    formats to be uploaded and download for a number
    of different mobile learning devices.

  • Creating podcasts with students measuring their
    enthusiasm and engagement when using familiar
    technology
  • Gathering feedback from students in focus groups
    on the positive impact using podcasting has had
    on their learning

Difficulties Encountered
  • Staff time
  • Busy schedules with full teaching timetables.
    Difficult to give project required time
  • Attending training sessions and meetings with
    time constraints
  • Adapting lessons appropriately to integrate
    technology

  • Hardware
  • Delays occurred with having to prepare tender for
    major purchase list
  • Lead time for delivery of all kit delays from
    suppliers
  • check definite availability of required hardware
  • Set up of technology with constant updates and
    changes required.

The Future
  • Using podcasting for staff development
  • Expand the project to a Work Based Learning and
    Apprenticeships
  • Increase the variety of handheld/mobile devices
    to include smartphones, iPod touches, mobile
    phones.
  • Invite more colleges to become partners on the
    website
