Eradication Policy

• Coca is the raw material of cocaine.
• United Nations since 1988 it is prohibited to
  sow, cultivate, harvest, process and market coca
  leaves.
• Cocaine processing in Bolivia is increasing.
• 48,000 hectares of coca are cultivated annually
  in Bolivia. Only 12,000 hectares are for
  traditional use.
• Some farmers move into higher levels, from
  growing coca to make cocaine paste.
• Only 2 of the Bolivians had tried cocaine, but
  cocaine consume as cocaine past is increasing in
  Bolivia.

Legalization of coca as an alternative

• Programs to substitute the coca plantations are
  not succeeded
• The popularity of the herbal medicines in the
  world it is tempting to consider the cocas
  legalisation.
• Many possible products that could be legally
  produced.
• Bolivia could earn five times the profit of
  illicit coca exports with licit exports.
• Risk Freedom to produce greater quantities of
  coca would increase the volume of coca sold to
  the narco-traffickers.
