20Nicolás, a Christian from Siuning. He knew our
missionaries. He still speaks some spanish taught
by his teacher, Alfajeme.
He is holding a Postcard handwritten in Chinese
by the martyr Blessed Rafael Briega When he was
still a novice.
21The pastor of Huangshan administering Baptism to
a Catechumen.
The alb he is wearing is the one worn in his
ordination by Fr. Romario Jarussi, missionary in
China and nowadays living in Brazil
22This set of stairs is one of the few things still
standing from the Old Mission in Tunxi,
(Huangshan). It was used by our missionaries. If
stones could speak
23In this hill were buried the two Claretian
missionaries that died in China. Their bodies are
there no more. Today it belongs to the city, and
it can not be reached. Nevertheless, nothing can
prevent that our prayers and memories get there.
24When Fr. Rebollar stepped on this bridge for the
first time, he saw, with horror, 8 posts from
where the heads of 8 recently decapitated bandits
were hanging.
25The famous Huangshan Old Street. It is still
preserved as it was in the time of our
missionaries.
26Shehsien (former Hweichowfu). Here Fr. Joseph M.
Mallorquí worked lots of years.

59DOES CHINA HAVE TWO CHURCHES?
No in the substance, Yes in the appearances
60Relations
Few The difference between a temple of the
official church and one of the non-official is
the legal document at the entrance recognizing
its legality. (Most of the non-official temples
are smaller, hidden in houses and/or easily
destroyed by the religious authorities)
Good all affirm to be in tune with the Pope and
all recognize his authority. Usually the Pope
picture is easily seen in temples and official
churchesoffices.

81Brother Paulo Choo, cmf, from Korea, has been
going in and out of this area of China, since
1990. He has given quite a lot of economical help
to that diocese (asking for donations in South
Korea) 4 chapels have been built with this help
and also it helped in rebuilding the
Cathedral. He is in good relations with the
apostolic administrator and the priests of the
diocese. They will help us to obtain the required

lots of possibilities to our missionaries. It is
quite an interesting idea, but nowadays
