Two Ways to Include Audio

• Individual sound clips
• Click on speaker icon to hear the comments
• Narration to entire slide show
• Start the slide show and listen to the narration
  as the slides automatically change

Individual Sound Clip

• Insert menu gt Movies and Sounds gt Record
  Sound
• Name the clip and click the red button to begin
  recording
• Speak into the microphone
• Click the blue square botton to stop
• Save the clip
• (DEMO)

Complete Narration

• Slide Show menu gt Record Narration
• Click Set Microphone Level button to verify the
  microphone is working
• Click OK
• Select to start with the First Slide
• View your slides and record your narration
• (Dont go back at all only one narration per
  slide)
• Press ESC to stop recording
• Preview with View menu gt Slide Show (F5)
• (DEMO)

Fixing mistakes

• To re-record one slide in a narrated slide show
• Drag it to the end of the slide show (using the
  slide sorter)
• Record from the Current Slide
• Drag it back where it belongs
• NOTE Audio files are HUGE! Deliver via CD or
  campus LAN, not dial-up phone lines
• Impatica can compress to about 10 of the
  original with some loss of quality (DEMO)

The Voice of the Instructor

• You learn some things only by hearing it in
  someone elses voice
• When you read you read in your voice
• The voice transmits more than the words
• Passion, Concern, Confusion, Confidence, Asides,
  Importance, Humor, Organization
• Sidebars, pull-quotes, pictures, diagrams and
  headlines add to the text of a publication
• Add your voice to the text of a PowerPoint
