PURPOSE
  • Our aim is to take each pupil to the limits of
their intelectual and phisycal abilities and to
    support children with difficulties.
  • We set and expect high standards in behaviour,
    respect, politness and consideration. This
expectation we stress, applies aqually to
relationship between pupils as it does to the
    relationships between children and adults.
  • We aim for all chidren to be valued. We encourage
children to be curious, to think and apply
knowledge. We apply children to be confident and
    competent in communication with others.

Position of our town
  • Poland lies in the central part of the European
continent, the geometrical centre of which is
near Warsaw. The boundary between the East and
West European continental masses also runs
through Poland. Poland's total surface area is
322,500 sq km (312,600 sq km of land, 1,200 sq km
of inland waters, and 8,700 sq km of territorial
    waters).
  • The main part of the District of Dzierzoniów is
situated in Przedgórze Sudeckie. North- eastern
mountains- sides of the Sowie Mountains, a part
of Sleza Massif, and Mount Radunia are also
    included in the Districts area.

Patron of our school
  • Nicholas Copernicus - born Feb. 19, 1473, Torun,
Poland, died May 24, 1543, Frauenburg, East
Prussia now Frombork, Poland His name in Polish
    was Mikolaj Kopernik.
  • He was a Polish astronomer who proposed that the
planets have the Sun as the fixed point to which
their motions are to be referred that the Earth
is a planet which, besides orbiting the Sun
annually, also turns once daily on its own axis
and that very slow, long-term changes in the
direction of this axis account for the precession
    of the equinoxes.
  • This representation of the heavens is usually
    called the heliocentric, or "Sun-centred,"
system--derived from the Greek helios, meaning
    "Sun." Copernicus's theory had important
consequences for later thinkers of the scientific
revolution, including such major figures as
    Galileo, Kepler, Descartes, and Newton.
  • The book that contains the final version of his
theory, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium libri
vi ("Six Books Concerning the Revolutions of the
Heavenly Orbs"), did not appear in print until
1543, the year of his death.
