Bericht über die Luftbelastung Zur Betrachtung der Luftbelastung am 1. 1. 2000 haben Sie die Meßstation Saarbruecken-City ausgewählt. Schwefeldioxid entsteht durch Verbrennungsprozesse schwefelhaltiger Energieträger wie Kohle und Erdöl in Kraft- und Fernheizwerken sowie in der Industrie, in Haushalten und im Verkehr. Schwefeldioxid ist ein direkt wirkendes Schadgas und eine wichtige Vorläufersubstanz für saure Niederschläge. Aufgrund der langen Verweildauer in der Atmosphäre von 3 - 5 Tagen kann ein Transport über große Entfernungen stattfinden. Es gilt als sicher, daß sich die Wirkung mit anderen Luftschadstoffen (Stickoxide, Fluorwasserstoff, Schwebstoffe) additiv erhöht.
