    agro-forestry in temperate, tropical and
    subtropical environments.

Born in early '80s as CNR IATA to face the need
for RS applications to agriculture and to
strenghten the research in the field of
agrometeorology and environmental analysis in
agricultureIn 1995 changes name and turns into
the Istituto per lAgrometeorologia e lAnalisi
Ambientale applicati allAgricoltura. In 2000
was born the present Istituto di Biometerologia
(IBIMET) joining IATA from Florence, IMAes
(Sassari) and ISTEA (Bologna)

  • The Academy was fouded in Florence in 1753 with
    the aim of promoting research in agricultural
    field.
  • In 1984 the Academy founded the Centre for
    studies on computer applications to agriculture
    (Ce.S.I.A).
  • Nowadays, Ce.S.I.A is a Public Research Institute
    with the legal status of non-profit NGO dedicated
    to new technology development and transfer to
    agriculture and environment.
