CITMA is the institution that

• Measured systematically observes and records
  behavior and chemical composition of the
  atmosphere
• Archive and protect the historic heritage of the
  information about the atmosphere in the Republic
  of Cuba
• Analyzes data and produces weather and climate
  information for decision making related to the
  protection of life and material resources in
  Cuba
• Conducts research related to weather forecasting,
  climate change and its impacts, renewable energy,
  human health, agriculture and the effects of air
  pollution
• Develops and related technologies assimilated
  meteorological measurement systems (radars).
