Mountain ranges

• These are large groups of mountains spread over
  a wide area.

• Examples of mountain ranges include the Pyrenees
  and the Alps in Europe, the Andes in South
  America and the Rocky Mountains in North America.

Plains

• These are large areas of flat land, sometimes
  found at high elevations. They form the largest
  part of continental land relief.

• When located at high elevations, they are
  called plateaus.

• Examples of plateaus are the Meseta Central and
  the European Plain in Europe and the Great Plains
  in North America.

Depressions

• These are landforms that are sunken below the
  surrounding areas.

• Examples of depressions include the Guadalquivir
  Depression and the Ebro Depression in Spain, the
  Turan Depression in Europe and Asia, and the Dead
  Sea Depression in the Middle East.
