• are dependent clauses that act as ADVERB
  modifiers in a sentence.
• create COMPLEX SENTENCES because they are
  DEPENDENT.
• They answer questions like How? When? Where? To
  what degree?
• They MODIFY adverbs, adjectives, and/or verbs.

Adverb Clauses

• begin with subordinating conjunctions such as
  after, although, as, while, when, until, before,
  because, if, and since to introduce dependent
  adverb clauses.
