Title: Construcciones y Obras P
1Road Pavement Rehabilitation Techniques Using
Enhanced Asphalt Mixtures (PARAMIX)
Proposal N GRD1-2000-25168 Contract Nº
G1RD-CT-2000-00374
Starting/end date 01-02-2001/01-03-2004
There is a clear conscience amongst
administrators and builders that investments on
road network should increasingly be focused on
rehabilitation (maintenance) rather than in
building new roads. One of the most important
matters in road rehabilitation is the pavement,
in such a way that it determines its quality.
Bearing in mind these facts, together with the
obvious environmental and budget constraints, new
rehabilitation and reconstruction techniques of
road pavements with minimal resources consumption
as those proposed in this project, should be
considered as an opportunity and a clear option
versus building of new roads.

- Objectives of the Project
- Be able to predict the behaviour of a pavement
with FEM. - Study the influence of certain mechanic
parameters both in hot-in-plant recycling
techniques and cold in-situ recycling techniques. - Be able to design optimum bitumen mixtures and
emulsions depending on the initial conditions.
Milling of the different layers of the asphalt
pavement.
