Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Nevada for
15 million under the Treaty of Guadalupe
    Hidalgo.

New Land
  • Again in 1854 the U.S purchased the remainder of
Arizona and New Mexico for an additional 10
million under the Gadsden Purchase. This made
    thousands of Mexicans U.S residents.

Government This allowed migrant workers to Come
into the country under Documentation .

  • In 1924 The U.S Border Patrol was created which
lead to the definition of illegal alien
  • Immigration has been encouraged off and on since
WWI, depending on the economic need of the U.S.

Today
  • Demand for on-the-job and short-term
    employment on the rise.

9
Pros and Cons
  • The U.S has a workforce that is reliable and is
    incredibly cheap
  • The Government can reject that workforce at
    anytime.
  • Many argue that Mexican Immigration takes jobs
    from the American workforce
  • Most importantly Mexicans are often exploited and
not given the same benefits or pay as their U.S
    counterparts.
