• Statistics
• Across the Bury Borough we currently have 231
  active Home Watch schemes.
• Total of 3958 members in these schemes.
• 30 new schemes set up this year.
• All scheme coordinators are visited on a monthly
  basis by local PCSOs.
• 20 Home Watch Walkabouts carried out so far
  this year.

• New Developments in the last year
• Weekly newsletter sent out via email (some are
  hand delivered to schemes with no internet
  access).
• Full training delivered to all PCSOs on how to
  set up and maintain Home Watch schemes.
• Introduction of voluntary Walkabouts with
  NPTs to promote Home Watch and to provide
  additional crime prevention advice.
• Quarterly crime advice bulletins on different
  topics sent out with email newsletter.
• Introduction of Home Watch alerts via email.

• Progressing Home Watch Further
• Bury Police looking to secure funding for use of
  Rapide mobile texting service for sending out
  immediate alerts.
• Promoting benefits of Home Watch at community
  events, media opportunities.
• Through B3SDA look at trying to set up bespoke
  training package to encourage Home Watch members
  to set up their own Home Watch Associations.
• Consideration of funding application to BurySafe
  for purchasing of Home Watch signs.
