DNA Sequencing Work Flow

• Customer submits sample information online
• Customer brings sample to lab and bar-codes it
• Tech creates robot worktable layout
• Robot pipettes samples to destination plate
• Program creates injection file
• Plate w/ injection file go to DNA analyzer
• Result files are checked w/ a Windows program,
  some sequences marked for repeat
• Result files renamed and copied to server

DNA Billing

• Internal and External billing
• For internal billing, account numbers are
  frequently read from Peoplesoft web service and
  saved to our database
• Billing once a month
• In internal billing, program creates an Excel
  worksheet that is sent to Accounting for
  electronic cost transfer
