• Our School
• Founded in 1928, our school had several premises
  until the present building was erected in a
  central residential area Bairro do
  Arco do Cego and named Liceu Nacional
  Dona
• Filipa de Lencastre in 1938.
• The construction was designed by architect Jorge
  Segurado according to a specific pedagogical
  architecture commonly used in those days a big
  quadrilateral structure with a rounded façade
  built around a playground. Inside, the walls of
  its harmonious hall are covered with soft pink
• marble.

• Originally a feminine school, it has been
  co-educational since 1974 and its name was
  subsequently changed to Escola Secundária Dona
  Filipa de Lencastre.
• It is located in an area of tertiary activities
  and some of its students come from the outer city
  suburbs.
• Nowadays, there are about 1000 students and 120
  teachers in this school and it retains the top
  ranking in the Maths and Physics national final
• exams.
