20 patients, aged between 65 and 85 years,
underwent uncomplicated cataract surgery with
implantation of an Acrysof SN60WS IOL
inserted via the preloaded Acrysert injector.
3Patients and Methods
Implantation behaviour, IOL- movement inside the
cartridge as well as haptic outline inside the
cartridge were documented . Incision size was
measured with the Osher caliper A questionaire
was added to evaluate surgeons subjective opinion
on the implantation process
4Results
Question mark delivery of leading haptic
3.2 mm Incision size for two cases
5Results
tucked delivery of first haptic
3.2 mm Incision size for two cases
6Results
Incision size with AcrySert
Average room temperature 21.0o0.4oCelsius
Average incision size 3.290.21mm
Trailing haptic delivery
7Conclusions I
- Implantation of the Acrysof SN60WS was easy
and smooth - No complicaions occurred, no IOL or haptic
damage
8Conclusions II
- Average incision size was 3.29mm
- One step implantation was always achieved
- Haptic release was done with I/A tips or
single hook
