16 En aquel tiempo, los once discípulos se
fueron a Galilea y subieron al monte en el que
Jesús los había citado.
17 Al ver a Jesús, se postraron, aunque algunos
titubeaban.
18 Entonces, Jesús se acercó a ellos y les
dijo Me ha sido dado todo poder en el cielo y
en la tierra.

19 Vayan, pues, y enseñen a todas las naciones,
bautizándolas en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y
del Espíritu Santo,
20 y enseñándolas a cumplir todo cuanto yo les
he mandado y sepan que yo estaré con ustedes
todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo.

16 The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the
mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
17 When they saw him, they worshiped, but they
doubted.
18 Then Jesus approached and said to them,
All power in heaven and on earth has been given
to me.

19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have
commanded you. And behold, I am with you
always, until the end of the age.

Today is the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. The
readings of the Mass have much to say about who
God is, and how he functions. There are many
implications for us. We can grow in
understanding about God and about ourselves,
and learn how to deal with others better.

Hoy es la fiesta de la Santísima Trinidad. Las
lecturas de la Misa tienen mucho que decir acerca
de quien es Dios, y como funciona. Hay muchas
implicaciones para nosotros. Podemos crecer en
entendimiento de Dios y de nosotros.

In the Old Testament there are several books said
to be part of Wisdom Literature. The Book of
Proverbs is one of them. Notice that Proverbs 8
talks about wisdom as if it were a person who
speaks. The Lord possessed me, the beginning
of his ways, the forerunner of his prodigies of
long ago from of old I was poured forth, at the
first, before the earth (Proverbs 823).

En el Viejo Testamento hay varios libros que se
consideran literatura de Sabiduría. El Libro de
Proverbios es uno de ellos. Noten que Proverbios
8 habla de Sabiduría como si fuera una persona
que habla. El Señor me poseo, en los comienzos
de sus modos, anticipando sus prodigios de hace
mucho tiempo (Proverbios 823).

In the New Testament the Gospel of John has a
Prologue, which is also part of Wisdom
Literature. It says that in the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. (John 11). In John 114 it
says that this Word became Flesh, and dwelt
among us. That is Jesus, as second Person of
the Blessed Trinity. It is important to note
that He is a person, not just an abstract
concept.

En el Nuevo Testamento el Prologo de San Juan se
considera parte de la literatura de Sabiduría
también. En el comienzo era la Verdad, y la
Verdad era con Dios, y la Verdad era Dios
(Juan 11). Luego Juan 114 dice que este
Verbo se hizo carne, y habito entre nosotros.
Esto es Jesucristo, como Segunda Persona de la
Santísima Trinidad. Se dice que es su
pre-existencia. Es importante notar que es
una persona, y no solo un concepto abstracto.

When you have a person, you can relate to him or
her. He is just like us. God wanted us to
relate to him just as we relate to one another.
After the Resurrection, Jesus said to Peter
Do you love me three times. The first two
times he used the Greek word Agapas me? (Do
you love me with reverential love?). Note that
Peter always answered Philo se!. (I love you
like a brother with personal passionate
affection).

Cuando tienes a una persona, puedes relacionar
con el o ella. Si Dios es Tres Personas, se
puede relacionar con las Tres Personas así como
tu y yo uno con el otro. Dios quiere tener una
relación con nosotros como cuando un hermano
relaciona con el otro. Porqué decimos esto?
Porque después de la Resurrección, Jesús le
pregunto a Pedro Me amas? (Juan 2115).
Sabemos que lo hizo tres veces. Hay que notar
el Griego que se uso Agapas me? (Me amas?)
porque tiene muchas implicaciones. Pedro siempre
respondió con la palabra en Griego philo se.
Esto quiere decir Te amo como hermano con
afecto y pasion personal.

On the third time Jesus asks again, but this
time with Peters preferred word. Phileis me?
Do you love me like a brother? This made Peter
heartbroken and with tears replied You know
that I love you (like a brother) .

Es en la tercera vez que Jesús le cambia, de uso
de agapas me a phileis me. Jesús quería
saber si en verdad lo amaba como hermano, así
como decía. Esto le quebró el corazón a Pedro y
con lagrimas le contesto Tu sabes que te
quiero como a un hermano!

The God of Jesus Christ wants us to love him like
a brother. And Jesus said he wants us to love
one another. And we know that this love is the
Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Blessed
Trinity. So this means that if we are to be in
the image and likeness of God we are to love
one another. We are to relate to one another
with the affection of brothers and sisters.

El Dios de Jesucristo quiere que lo amemos como
hermano, así como quería que nos amaramos unos a
los otros. Ahora nos damos cuenta que amar es
compartir en el Espirito Santo, Tercer Persona
de la Santísima Trinidad. Para ser imagen de
Dios hay que amar, con el afecto de hermanos y
hermanas.

This was a secret kept hidden from all eternity.
Now Jesus Christ has manifested it. At the Last
Supper He told us to love one another as He has
loved us. That is how His disciples are to be
known by the love they have for one another.
The Holy Spirit would have to come to teach us
this truth in due time. They could not bear it
at the time of the Last Supper.

Eso fue un secreto guardado desde la eternidad.
Ahora Cristo lo ha manifestado. En la Ultima
Cena Jesús nos dijo que nos amaramos como Él nos
ama. Por esto conocerán a mis discípulos, por
el amor que se tienen (Juan 1335). Tuvo que
venir el Espirito Santo a su debido tiempo para
darnos entendimiento de esta Verdad que es
Sabiduría tan profunda. Los discípulos no
podían entender todo esto en la Ultima Cena.

Romans 55 reminds us that the love of God has
been poured out into our hearts through the Holy
Spirit. That happened in an extraordinary way
at Pentecost. There was so much love being
poured out as the disciples experienced God in a
new way. It was a visual - audio experience.
They heard the powerful wind they saw the
beautiful tongues as of fire come down upon each
one of them. They began to speak in tongues.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

Romanos 5.5 nos recuerda que El amor de Dios
ha sido derramado por el Espirito Santo. Esto
sucedió de una manera extraordinaria en el día de
Pentecostés. Fue una experiencia nueva de Dios.
Sabemos que fue audio-visual. Se oyó un viento
poderoso, y se vieron bellísimas lenguas de
fuego caer sobre cada uno. Comenzaron hablar en
lenguas y todos fueron llenos del Espirito
Santo.

Furthermore Peter was given to understand that
this was the fulfillment of the prophecy of Joel.
I will give my Spirit to everyone. Your sons
and daughters will prophesy. Your young men
will see visions. Your old men will have
dreams. (Acts 2.17).

Además Pedro fue concedido en el entendimiento
que esto todo era el cumplimiento de la profecía
del Profeta Joel. Derramare el Espirito Santo
sobre todos. Sus hijos y hijas profetizaran.
Sus jóvenes verán visiones. Sus ancianos
tendrán sueños (Hechos 217).

This was the love of God in the Holy Spirit being
revealed to us in many powerful ways. In the
Eucharist, this love is revealed again and again
in a beautiful and powerful experience. That is
why Pentecost is so special. We are given
greater understanding of so many things. Thank
you Most Holy Spirit!

Eso fue el amor de Dios en el Espirito Santo,
revelado, manifestado de tal manera tan
poderosa. En la Eucaristía se manifiesta una
vez y otra vez y muchas veces con semejante
poder. Pero hay que estar alertas, y no
hacerlo solo como una rutina. Hay que recibir
al Señor dignamente. Demos gracias al Espirito
Santo!

Many gifts of the Spirit are still manifested
healing of all sorts, a profound sense of joy.
There is a bonding in the Holy Spirit. There is
an intense unity among ourselves, forgiving one
another many times. Glory to God!

Que grande es el amor de Dios! El Espirito
Santo se ha manifestado de tantas maneras en el
don de sanar a los enfermos, en el gozo, en
una unión interior con Dios y con nuestros
hermanos, perdonándonos unos a los otros muchas
veces. Esto solo puede ser el poder del Espirito
Santo. Gloria a Dios!

Let us continue to relate to one another with the
love of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy
Spirit.

Sigamos relacionando unos a otros con el amor
del Padre, y el Hijo, y el Espirito Santo,
hoy y para siempre, por los siglos, de los
