Lucas 438 - 44
38 En aquel tiempo, Jesús salió de la sinagoga
y entró en la casa de Simón. La suegra de Simón
estaba con fiebre muy alta y le pidieron a
Jesús que hiciera algo por ella.
39 Jesús, de pie junto a ella, mandó con
energía a la fiebre, y la fiebre desapareció.
Ella se levantó enseguida y se puso a
servirles.

40 Al meterse el sol, todos los que tenían
enfermos se los llevaron a Jesús y él,
imponiendo las manos sobre cada uno, los fue
curando de sus enfermedades.
41 De muchos de ellos salían también demonios
que gritaban Tú eres el Hijo de Dios! Pero
él les ordenaba enérgicamente que se callaran,
porque sabían que él era el Mesías.

42 Al día siguiente se fue a un lugar solitario
y la gente lo andaba buscando. Cuando lo
encontraron, quisieron retenerlo, para que no se
alejara de ellos
43 pero él les dijo También tengo que
anunciarles el Reino de Dios a las otras
ciudades, pues para eso he, sido enviado.

44 Y se fue a predicar en las sinagogas de
Judea.

Luke 438 - 44
38 After he left the synagogue, Jesus entered
the house of Simon. Simons mother-in-law was
afflicted with a severe fever, and they
interceded with him about her.
39 Jesus stood over her, rebuked the fever,
and it left her. She got up immediately and
waited on them.

40 At sunset, all who had people sick with
various diseases brought them to him. He laid
his hands on each of them and cured them.
41 And demons also came out from many,
shouting, You are the Son of God. But he
rebuked them and did not allow them to speak
because they knew that he was the Messiah.

42 At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a
deserted place. The crowds went looking for him,
and when they came to him, they tried to
prevent him from leaving them.
43 But he said to them, To the other towns
also I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom
of God, because for this purpose I have been
sent.

44 And he was preaching in the synagogues of
Judea.

438 - 44 Reflexiones en

Lets note that this selection from Luke follows
Luke 418-19, where Jesus went to the synagogue
on Saturday, as was his custom, and cited the
book of Isaiah 611-2. He said The Spirit of
the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me
to preach the good news to the poor.

Noten que esta selección sigue a Lucas 418-19,
donde Jesús fue a la sinagoga en sábado, como
era su costumbre, y cito al libro de Isaías

He has sent me to proclaim release to the
captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord
(Luke 418-19).

cautivos, y la vista a los ciegos, para poner
en libertad a los oprimidos, para proclamar el

In this way Jesus established the character of
his messiaship. It would be in genuine accord
with the Old Testament. To say that he was
anointed meant that he was crowned to do this.
He would be dedicated to this. He was appointed
to give joy to the afflicted by announcing the
good news to the poor. There would be healing of
all kinds physical and spiritual. The blind
would see, the lame would walk, the dead would
rise, slaves would be set free.

De esta manera Jesús estableció carácter de su
reino como el Mesías. Seria en acuerdo con el
Viejo Testamento. Al decir que Él era ungido
quiere decir que él era coronado para hacer esto.
A esto se dedicaría. Fue apuntado para darle
gozo a los afligidos anunciando las buenas nuevas
a los miserables. Habría sanación de toda clase
física y espiritual. Los ciegos oyeran, los
rengos andarían, los muertos se levantarían,
los esclavos estarían libres.

As a result Isaiah 6110 expressed jubilation.
There is an outburst of joy! I will greatly
rejoice in the Lord, and my soul shall exult in
my God. Those blessed in this way are
represented as clad in garments of salvation.
He has covered me with the robe of
righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself
with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself
with her jewels.

Por esos resultados Isaías 6110 expresa jubilo.
Hay una desbordo de gozo! Desbordo de gozo
con el Señor, y me alegro con mi Dios porque
me ha vestido en traje de gala, y me ha
envuelto en un manto de triumfo, como novio que
se pone la corona, o novia que se adorna con
sus joyas.

Our Lady was the first to be full of jubilation
when Jesus came to her. (Luke 146-53) My soul
magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in
God my Savior, for he has regarded the low
estate of his handmaiden. For behold,
henceforth all generations will call me blessed
for he who is mighty has done great things for
me, and holy is his name.

Nuestra Señora fue la primera para estar llena de
jubilo al venir Jesús. En Lucas 146-53 dice
Mi alma magnifica al Señor, y mi espíritu se
alegra en Dios mi Salvador, porque se ha fijado
en su humilde esclava. Pues mira, desde ahora
me felicitaran todas las generaciones porque el
Poderoso ha hecho tanto por mi.

And his mercy is on those who fear him. He has
shown strength with his arm, he has scattered
the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted those of low degree he has filled
the hungry with good things, and the rich he
has sent away empty.

Él es santo y su misericordia llega a sus
fieles generación tras generación. Su brazo
interviene con fuerza, desbarata los planes de
los soberbios, derriba de sus tronos a los
poderosos, y exalta a los humildes, a los
hambrientos los colma de bienes y a los ricos
los despide de vació.

In Luke 438, when Jesus left the synagogue,
he went home visiting. He immediately entered
Simon Peters house with Andrew, James and John
(Mark 129). Immediately they told him about
Simons motherin-law, who lay sick with a
fever. Jesus came and took her by the hand,
and lifted her up, and the fever left her.
And immediately, she rose and served them.

En Lucas 438, cuando Jesús sale de la sinagoga,
fue a visitar hogares. Inmediatamente entra a
la case de Simón Pedro junto con Andrés,
Santiago, y Juan (Marcos 129). Inmediatamente
le dicen de la suegra de Simón Pedro, que se
encuentra enferma con fiebre. Jesús vino y la

Note that the moment of healing was when he
touched her (Matthew 815). St. Cyril of
Alexandria (Commentary on Luke, Homily 12) notes
that Jesus laid his hands on the sick one by one
and freed them from their malady. His flesh
possessed the power of healing. That flesh died
on the cross, but then rose from the dead. Now
it is accessible to all believers. At Holy
Communion he comes and heals a very great
multitude of people in one moment of time.

Noten que el momento de sanación fue cuando le
toco la mano (Mateo 815). San Cirilio de
Alejandría (en Comentario de Lucas, Homilía 12)
nota que Jesús le impuso sus manos a los enfermos
uno por uno y los libero de sus enfermedades.
Su cuerpo poseía el poder de sanar. Ese cuerpo
murió en la cruz, pero se levanto de la muerte.
Ahora es accesible a todos los creyentes. En
la Santa Comunión él viene y sana una gran
multitud de gente a un solo momento.

St. Jerome (Homilies on the Gospel of Mark 75)
prays May Christ come to our house and
enter in and by his command cure the fever of
our sins. Each one of us is sick with a fever.
There are as many fevers as there are faults
and vices. Let us beg the apostles to intercede
for us with Jesus, that Jesus may come to us
and touch our hand. If He does so, at once our
fever is gone.

San Jerónimo (en Homilías del Evangelio de Marcos
75) reza Que Cristo venga a nuestra casa y
entre, y por su orden que sane las fiebres de
nuestros pecados. Cada uno de nosotros tiene
enfermedad de fiebre. Hay tantas fiebres como
hay faltas y vicios. Oremos a los apóstoles que
intercedan por nosotros con Jesús, que él venga a
nosotros y nos tome de la mano. Si hace eso,
inmediatamente nuestra fiebre se va.

Note that the demons came out of many when they
were healed. Learn to bind the devil in the name
of Jesus and cast them out, and you will be
healed. Anoint yourself with holy oil, so that
the holy anointing of Jesus may come to you, and
shield you from all evil. Exodus 3029 says
whatever you anoint with holy oil shall be made
holy. Mark 613 says the apostles anointed the
sick with oil and cast out demons and healed
them.

Noten que los demonios salieron de muchos cuando
fueron sanados. Aprendan a atar al demonio en el
nombre de Jesucristo, y lánzalo fuera. Serás
sanado. Úngete con aceite bendito, para que la
santa ungido de Jesucristo venga a ti, y te
sirva de escudo contra todo mal. El libro de
Éxodos 3029 dice que cuando unjas a cualquier
cosa será hecho santo. Marcos 613 dice que los
apóstoles ungieron con aceite a los enfermos y
lanzaron a los demonios y fueron sanados.

Jesus rebuked the demons and would not allow
them to speak. Likewise, we must do the same.
St. Cyril of Alexandria says nothing they say is
true. Let no one trust them. Light cannot be
recognized with the help of darkness. Do not
listen to them. Do not entertain them any
conversation with them. Ignore them. Bind them
in the Name of Jesus, and cast them out.

Jesús rechazo a los demonios y no los permitió
hablar. Igualmente, hay que hacer lo mismo.
San Cirilio de Alejandría dice que nada de lo que
ellos dicen es cierto. No confíes en los
demonios. La luz no se puede conocer con la
ayuda de la tiniebla. No les hagas caso. No
entretengas conversación con los demonios.
Ignóralos. Átalos en Nombre de Jesucristo, y
lánzalos fuera. Mándalos al infernó a donde
pertenecen !

St. Paul in 2 Corinthians 614-18 says Do not
be mismated with unbelievers. For what
partnership have righteousness and iniquity?
Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
What accord has Christ with Belial (Satan)? What
agreement has the temple of God with idols? For
we are the temples of the living God, as God
said I will live in them and move among
them, and I will be their God, and they shall
be my people (Leviticus 2612).

San Pablo en 2 Corintios 614-18 dice No se
unzan al mismo yugo con los infieles qué tiene
que ver la rectitud con la maldad?, Puede
unirse la luz con las tinieblas?, Pueden estar
de acuerdo Cristo y el diablo?, Irán a
medias el fiel y el infiel, son comparables
el templo de Dios y los ídolos? Porque
nosotros somos templo de Dios vivo, así lo dijo
él Habitare y caminare con ellos, sere su
Dios y ellos seran mi pueblo (Leviticus
2612).

Therefore come out from them, and be separate
from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing
unclean then I will welcome you, and I will
be a father to you, and you shall be my sons
and daughters (Isaías 52.11).

Por esto, salgan de en medio de esa gente,
apártense, dice el Señor, no toquen lo impuro y
yo los acogeré. Seré un padre para ustedes y
ustedes para mi seran mis hijos y hijas
(Isaías 52.11).
