Invertebrates are animals without a back bone.
Vertebrates are animals with a backbone.

  • Mammals
  • Fish
  • Amphibians
  • Reptiles
  • Birds

Mammals
  • They make milk for their babies and take good
    care of their young.
  • They have at least some hair.
  • No mammal has more than four limbs.
  • All mammals are warmblooded.
  • All mammals have lungs and breathe air.

Fish
  • All fish have gills.
  • All fish have fins.
  • Fish are coldblooded.

Amphibians
  • All amphibians breathe with gills in water when
    they are born, and some breathe with lungs on
    land later.
  • All amphibians have smooth, moist skin.
  • All amphibians lay eggs.
  • All amphibians are coldblooded.

  • All reptiles breathe with lungs.
  • All reptiles are covered with dry scales.
  • All reptiles are coldblooded.

  • All birds have feathers.

  • Usually have weak muscles.
  • Usually are small animals with soft bodies.
  • If they do have skeletons, the skeletons are on
    the outside of their bodies for strength and
    protection.
  • Are coldblooded.
