reconnaissance flight in the skies of Çanakkale.
The Rumpler B I was one of the first aircraft to
arrive at Çanakkale as a part of the German
military aid. Although lacking armament, it
performed extremely important reconnaissance fligh
ts in the early stages of the Gallipoli Campaign.
6Çanakkale'deki hava birliginde görev yapan bes
adet Albatros C III uçagi bir arada
görülüyor. The five Albatros C III aircraft that
served with the aviation unit at Çanakkale.
7Çanakkale Cephesinde görev yapmak üzere
Almanya'nin askeri yardimi ile gelen ilk
uçaklardan Albatros B I kesif uçagi. Askeri
yardimla gelen 18 uçaktan dördüne topçu
atislarinin tanziminde kullanilmak üzere telsiz
haberlesme cihazi takilmisti. The Albatros B I
unarmed reconnaissance aircraft were the first
aircraft received under the German military aid
to the Ottoman Army for service at Çanakkale. Out
of the 22 aircraft received four were equipped
with wireless transmitters for artillery
spotting.
8Kraliyet Donanma Hava Gücüne (RNAS) ait N5584
numarali D.H. 4 bombardiman uçagi seyrüsefer
hatasi nedeniyle 29 Temmuz 1918 tarihinde
Tuzla'ya inis yapti. Bakimi yapilan uçak savasin
sonuna kadar 6nci Tayyare Bölügünde hizmet
gördü. D.H. 4 bomber, serial number N5584,
operated by the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS)
landed at Tuzla on 29 July, 1918 after a
navigational error. The aircraft was overhauled
and served with the 1st Aviation Company of the
Ottoman Army until the end of the war.
9Albatros C I genel maksat uçagi Çanakkale'deki

the fortifications at Çanakkale. Seven Albatros C
I aircraft received towards the end of 1915 were
the first armed aircraft, equipped with a
machine-gun at the observers position, to
arrive with the Ottoman aviation units at
Çanakkale.

Aviation Company is seen at the airfield near
Izmir.

numarali D.H. 4 bombardiman uçagi yakit
sistemindeki ariza nedeniyle 22 Mart 1918
tarihinde Gelibolu Yarimadasinda Galata kasabasi
yakinlarina mecburi inis yapti. D.H. 4 bomber
serial number N6410, operated by the Royal Naval
Air Service (RNAS), made an emergency landing
near Galata on the Gallipoli Peninsula due to a
clogged fuel line on 22 March, 1918. The aircraft
was overhauled and served with the 1st Aviation
Company of the Ottoman Army until the end of the
war.

for the observer, the Albatros C III was one of
the most formidable aircraft flown at Çanakkale.

work. Before the arrival of armed aircraft, the
mechanics at the 1st Aviation Company modified
the center section of the upper wing on a Rumpler
B I to equip it with a Parabellum machine-gun on
a rotating ring. This ingenious approach, making
the best use of the resources available,
reflects the Turks will to fight when his
country is at stake.

which was flown by Lieutenant Emil Meinecke, seen
at the airfield of the 6th Aviation Company near
the town of Çanakkale in 1917.

342/15, the long-time aircraft of Lieutenant Emil
Meinecke, undergoing engine overhaul in the
hangar at Çanakkale. The Fokker E III fighters
formed the backbone of the aerial defense at
Çanakkale. Throughout World War One they had at
least 10 confirmed aerial victories to their
credit in the skies of Çanakkale.

(RNAS) ele geçirilen D.H. 4 uçaginin önünde
