- Better understanding, monitoring and controlling
environmental pollution and public health risks
posed by industrial activities in the Fergana
Valley. - Development of respective national and regional
monitoring strategies, plans, networks as well as
the institutional strengthening of the regulatory
bodies and their supporting scientific background
institutions.

ENVSEC Initiative - REHRA Project in Central Asia
4 PROJECTs OBJECTIVES/STEPS
- Rapid risk assessment and ranking of environment
and health mutual trans-boundary risks originated
by the selected industrial sites, with
prioritisation of risks related to individual
sites. - Definition of preventive and mitigation measures
necessary reduce the identified risks, including
recommendations for emergency situations
management.
5 PROJECTs OBJECTIVES/STEPS
- To promote the public participation on the risk
management. - To support the institutional strengthening of the
national Bodies competent in monitoring and
management of industrial risks. - To provide scientific support to the competent
Institutions.

- Transfer and share of experiences and
organization (not only external expertise) - Work performed by trained CIEs, with assistance
of ICARO - Orientation toward the problem-solving, since

Convention or other forms). The Project shall be
shared and jointly led with local experts and
structures and shall foresee the utilization of
the national resources
