- It makes good business sense to refer only people
who are allowed to work - Illegal workers are breaking the law
- It is disruptive to a business for employees to
be removed suddenly

- Entitlement Verification Online
- Internet application
- Allows you to view the work entitlements of a
visa holder - Visa holders can view details of their own visa

- Visa labels gradually disappearing for many

- Register online to get a user ID and password
- To register for EVO, go to www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/
evo.htm - Website includes information about EVO categories
- Labour suppliers should register for the work
entitlements category - Registration process complete within half a day
- Can update your contact details online if they
change
9Registration steps
- You enter your organisations details on the EVO
registration web page - You specify a secret question and answer
- A DIMIA officer checks the request and enters
details in DIMIAs computer system - System automatically sends you an e-mail
informing you that your account is ready - You use the URL link in the email message to
complete your registration - System will ask you your secret question
- When you answer correctly, the system gives you a
logon ID and you select a password

18What you need to make a query
- Ask the visa holder for their consent
- You need the visa holders passport
- You need to ensure the passport photo matches the
visa holder
- From the passport
- Name family name, given name
- Date of birth
- Passport number
- Country of issue of passport
