EVALINK
  • French CPDLC 2008 experiment 7th of January to
    28th of March
  • Monday to Friday from 0900 to 1500 UTC
  • Live trials fully in line with LINK 2000
  • DLIC, ACM, ACL, AMC
  • ATN and VDL mode 2
  • FANS accommodation offered during the trials
  • CPDLC above FL 345 and, depending on traffic
    load, above FL 270
  • Two Controller Working Positions
  • Dedicated HMI on a TID with a third controller

EVALINK achievementsfor Link 2000
  • EVALINK served as a test facility for ARINC /
    SITA interconnection
  • ARINC / SITA interconnection was running for
    EVALINK on day 1
  • All our thanks to EHQ, EEC, ARINC and SITA !
  • First geographical extension of CPDLC beyond
    Maastricht airspace
  • Two Reims sectors
  • First inter centre CPDLC tests
  • Transfer from Reims to Maastricht ok (one case
    under study)
  • Transfer from Maastricht to Reims ok (regular
    reports from 28th January on)

EVALINK achievementsfor DSNA
  • Test of the Air Server
  • Real traffic brought more complete and more
    realistic environment
  • Confrontation with real traffic confirmed the
    software maturity
  • Minor difficulties encountered allowed us to
    further improve the software
  • Test of a full ATN / VDL2 connexion
  • Performances were good with ATN aircraft,
    variable with FANS aircraft
  • Evaluate of LINK 2000 services
  • Controllers make use of ACM and of ACL
  • Involvement of both technical and operational
    staff of Reims ACC
  • CPDLC entered the control room, with enthusiasm
    and pressure
  • CPDLC awareness improves well beyond Reims

    initiate CPDLC exchanges

  • But we need more aircraft (up to now, 7 to 8
    aircraft per day)

DSNA strategy for CPDLC
  • Discussion on IR DLS has not started in Single
    Sky Committee
  • DSNA strategy confirmed, and based on
  • ERATO French MTCD strip-less environment
  • COFLIGHT v2 and a new controller HMI
  • If the dates of the IR DLS are confirmed
  • DSNA will investigate a conformity scenario
  • ANSP should be allowed geographical and
    functional exemptions
