• Definición
• Presencia de náuseas y vómitos persistentes e
  incoercibles, sin causa orgánica, asociados con
  pérdida de peso (gt5 del peso corporal) y
  deshidratación (cetonuria).

La evaluación inicial estándar de las mujeres
embarazadas con vómitos persistentes incluye

• Medición de peso
• Tensión arterial ortostática
• Concentración sérica de T4 libre
• Electrolitos séricos, y cetonas en la orina.
• Un examen de ultrasonido se realiza para excluir
  la enfermedad trofoblástica gestacional y el
  embarazo múltiple.
